About Gather Foods
Food with purpose. Stories in every dish.
Aboriginal-owned and inspired catering, food manufacturing and retail — reimagining 60,000 years of Indigenous knowledge.
A new culinary wave drawing on 60,000 years of wisdom.
Australia is a cultural and culinary melting pot. A fusion of people and flavours from the world over. The missing ingredients? Our unique, delicious native foods and the people who have cultivated and cooked with them for millennia.
With Gather Foods, Nyoongar Traditional Owner Gerry Matera and renowned executive chef Eddie Bulatao are changing all that. And they're inviting everyone to gather round and enjoy.

Aboriginal Elders
Guided by Australia's Matriarch of Bush Food Ingredients, Dr Vivienne Hansen.
Dr Vivienne 'Binyard' Hansen is a Balladong Wadjuk Yorga woman from the Bibbulmun Nation who has dedicated her life to sharing, teaching, and advocating for Nyoongar culture, language and knowledge.
Dr Hansen developed an interest in native ingredients as a child. She pursued studies in Bush and Western Herbal Medicine and was the first Indigenous member of the National Herbalist Association of Australia. Today she is co-author of Nyoongar Bush Medicine and Nyoongar Bush Tucker with the University of Western Australia.
In 2026, her work was acknowledged by Murdoch University with an Honorary Doctorate, the highest honour bestowed for significant contribution to the application of knowledge in society.

Our Impact
For the planet. For the greater good.
In addition to sourcing produce and in-season ingredients as locally as we can, we offset our carbon emissions with Greenfleet and set the benchmark for minimising packaging, maximising recycling and eliminating food waste.
That's because we're more than an Indigenous-owned catering and event management business. We're an agent for positive social change — promoting reconciliation through the power of delicious native-inspired food and providing opportunities for young Aboriginal people to develop their skills, confidence and careers in hospitality.
